End of an era

Five years ago, the academic year when Grace was due to start preschool, I attended my first AGM of the village preschool committee. The year after I joined that committee and have been part of it ever since, serving as chairperson this past year. Tonight I stepped down and left it to my friends to continue. I hope they get more volunteers over the year as trustee numbers gave dwindled and without us there is no preschool. It's a fantastic, vibrant place that has given two of my girls some very happy years and no doubt will do the same for Arwen when her time comes. It has prepared Ophelia so well for school thanks to its dedicated staff. It's odd not to be part of it anymore at least not in the same way, but it's also been a busy year and actually my work is not quite done yet as I've got some outstanding issues to resolve before I can move on!
