MonoMonday - Time

Shopping over to Mum's and stay for most of the day.

There was some interest in it as there was a discussion as to whether it is a:

a. Watch Stand

People didn't have watches or clocks so the man's fob watch would be slotted in to the centre where everyone could see it and would only be removed for special occasions.

b. Sacred Font

That the centre would secretly hold a little water to bless themselves and family and the pastels pastilles for burning something similar to today's incense.

Whichever it is or a combination of both, it is intriguing. My watch slotted thru the centre, playing the part of a fob watch. Too scared to burn any incense in it!
