Wooden door

It looks a very welcoming front entrance and would have many a story to tell from past decades if it could talk. The detail around the door is painted, although traditionally the designs were carved into the plaster when wet and left to dry. Interestingly the small adjacent stained glass window is a typical feature of this particular village as the artist, Casty, lived in the village and his designs are seen in the houses, the churches and the public buildings. Notice the stable door, also a common feature where the top half of the door can be opened whilst the lower half remains shut.
