Dramatic morning!

We heard the sirens around 8 am...but not being accustomed to the city, we thought it was kinda normal! then i headed down to the kitchen for breakfast and the flames were leaping up very high (i didn't take any photos till later...dah!) just across the harbour from our house! Very dramatic indeed. turns out a commercial building was on fire...so at least no one was inside at the time! We eat breakfast as we kept watch on the progress. Seemed to take them a very long time to get the fire under control!

We then took the ferry over to Halifax and spent a few hours wandering. I spent quite a bit of time in a couple of galleries and terry wandered around down by the water!

Headed out to the Pottery supply place to pick up my order! About 2 hours into our 4 hour trip we started noticing a terrible vibration and noise! a bit unsettling given we were loaded to the gunnels with clay and chemicals! the old tire on the car was showing signs of perhaps letting go! so we spent a rather fretful couple of hours, trying to weigh out our options! Long story short, we stayed with Terry's sister who lives about 1 1/2 hours from us! Very good choice indeed. Had a lovely visit, glass of wine and a good nights sleep. After breakfast we took the car into a tire place and the guy was a bit concerned when we said we had a tire we could change at home! end result, he 'lent' us a new tire to get home, we just have to return it when we head down that way next time! Talk about generous spirit...i was very impressed!
