tal-Gazzja Festa Zabbar

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Divine Grace is a parish church in the centre of Zabbar originally built between 1641 and 1696 but subject to later adjustments and additions. This photo was taken at the tal-Grazzja festa which marks the end of the festa season in Malta. It is a very splendid affair with lots of fireworks. The church is highly decorated for the occasion inside and out with the locals donating flowers and religious ornaments. The statue of Our Lady is carried through the streets accompanied by music from the local brass band.
