Lord Derby
This morning Mum set me to work picking apples; it's been a very good year for them in her garden. This variety is called 'Lord Derby'. It originates from Cheshire and is a 'popular good-quality English cooking apple of the Victorian era', according to the Orange Pippin website. It goes well in a crumble, with a few blackberries for added sweetness.
