Lily & Kevin's Carriage

Lily and Kevin were married today in Tamworth, NH. The ceremony took place in the Congregational Church in Tamworth Village, and they rode this marvelous carriage 2 1/2 miles to the reception at Brookland, Lily's father Chris's wonderful house and grounds. It was a cloudy and chilly day and as weather would have it, light rain began at 4 pm as they left the church and continued at least until the fireworks (!) at 10 pm.

It was altogether a very wonderful event, despite the weather, and I could easily have posted a dozen images. But this one combines much of it, from the weather to Lily and Kevin on the right and the wonderful surroundings of the house. The ceremony was superb. Chris, a cousin and father of Molly and Willa, presided in wonderful fashion--I'd need many paragraphs to do justice to it; Chis is a teacher but also a justice of the peace, which qualified him.

At Brookland there was a marvelous tent--some of us struggled a bit to keep warm, but the food, drink, music and company were marvelous. All topped off by fireworks, as I mentioned.

Backblipped the next day. As many of you will recognize, Marylee and I have spent parts of several summers at this house in Tamworth.
