The fallen

It hasn't stopped snowing for 4 days here. We've just received our second delivery of heating oil. It's been a long, expensive winter for all of us.

Outside the farm at the entrance to our village I saw this dispiriting sight. Some 40 old poplar trees had been cut down to be sold for timber. Another blow to wildlife and the farming landscape I love.

Global warming marches on.
