Fenway Park
Spent another day in Boston with Ann and Mike - their last day here before heading back to Santa Barbara tomorrow. We did the tour of historic Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox and oldest ballpark in major league baseball. It was built in 1912 and still has many of the original seats and scoreboard. The scoreboard is still operated manually from behind the "Green Monsta" a 37 foot wall at the back of the field that was built to keep the balls from being hit out of the park into a car dealers lot. I love the skyline visible in the background. So much of this city reminds me of home and childhood and my own children's growing up years. One of my all time favorite cities at a perfect time of year. The one red seat seen almost in the center of the picture, below the Ford sign, is to mark the longest home run in the history of Fenway Park (502 feet) hit by Ted Williams in 1946.
Definitely better in LARGE.
