Bangkok Blip Meet

I finally met some of my fellow blippers! The Goose and Gander were in town and Astroman joined as well. Big Mango was working too hard :-( but Astroman will fill her in on the events, I'm sure.

We had a lovely Thai lunch - except for me* - at Cabbages and Condoms, a fascinating restaurant owned by the Population and Community Development Association whose Chairman is Dr. Mechai, Thailand's Condom King (who happens to be half Scottish). He is widely credited for popularizing condom use in Thailand in the early 90s which led to a big decline in HIV/AIDS transmission in the country.

In this blip photo (which should be the same as Goose and Gander's blip and Astroman's blip hehe), we're paying the bill. Instead of after-dinner mints, the waiter brings after dinner condoms. Stay tuned for blips of some of the condom art around the place. I live on the same street so intend to pop over there for emergency blips as part of my project of blipping the neighborhood of Sukhumvit Soi 12.






* I'm prepping for a screening colonoscopy tomorrow and am on a liquid diet today. Oh, the woes of being over 50...this is just the start of the injustices and attacks on my personal dignity which will continue and increase as I age...but like my father says, the only thing worse than getting old is not getting old.
