The Grass is Always Greener

If you'd told me before I had children that I'd think 8.30am was a lie-in I'd have thought you were mad.
But when I woke up at 8.30am this morning it made me smile to see the time - it felt like a lovely long lie in!
It was wonderful to stretch out in my lovely huge comfy bed and know that I had a whole day with no one to answer to but myself.
A cup of tea, breakfast in bed, a bit of Breakfast news before heading out. First to the charity shop to offload several bags full of junk and then to the gym for a leisurely work out.
Then to Tescos for some food and a slow cooker. I've been meaning to get one for ages and today was the day!
I came home, chucked some braising steak, bay leaves, stock, shallots and carrots into it, turned it on and left it to do it's thing for the next five hours. That's my kind of cooking!
The Little Misses came home at about 5.30pm. Exhausted and filthy but happy after what sounded like a fab day. They'd been to a railway wartime weekend event which sounded brilliant - trains, battle re-enactments, wartime vehicles, lots of sweets, tombolas and fairground rides.
Mr K got home at about 6.30pm tired from his gallivanting
And our little household was back together again.
As it should be!
