The Lizard the most southerly point of Britain

We got to the Lizard this afternoon and drove down to look at the lighthouse, the weather is nice but very windy here.

The doors Roo is standing in front of are actually doors from another lighthouse probably the most famous lighthouse in the UK Bishops Rock.

These doors are cast in solid bronze and weight over a hundred kilos each, during a storm in 1994 a helicopter was sent to investigate what was believed to be a fire but no fire the doors had been battered off in a storm.

No one mans the lighthouse at Bishops Rock it's all done these days electronically.

A pretty scary job being a helicopter pilot though:(
