Catching the sun

Seeing this fine bird this morning in the sun made my day. He's in full breeding plumage, complete with blushed cheek feathers and punk hairdo. Wonderful. I didn't know which one to post, but chose this one as I like the bus and the details in the feathers. The full selection is here.

I had a smile on my face all day. Result of a good weekend, I think, plus the cormorant and the sunshine. I really do love seeing the cormorants on their perches - they're real kings of the Thames. I'm still amazed that it's only me gawking at them in the morning on the way to work.
