So glad it's Friday!

Was really affected by DIY SOS last night - it was in Warrington, my cousin had written in to ask for help for the family of a stroke victim she had treated, and I spent nearly the full hour in tears. It was very humbling and really made me think a) how much we take for granted, and how little we appreciate what we have and b) how good it must be to have a job that actually makes a difference to people's lives rather than just to shareholders' bank balances!

Got home looking forward to a family weekend - the contractors had started the block paving in our part of the cul de sac. It was noisy and dusty but fascinating to see them working on it, so fast.
