Amazing Animals

A little while ago I found out that there is a private zoo, Heythrop Zoological Gardens, near a village about 10 miles away. The zoo is not open to the public apart from 1 weekend a year.

The zoo is kind of a result of the Chipperfield circus coming to an end. The Chipperfield family's base for the animals during the winter was based here. As the animals are very well trained, they were regularly used for film, TV and media work. They are now known as Amazing Animals. It is a relatively small zoo, but with some quite diverse animals, from millipedes through to lions.

This is a couple of the handlers walking some of the monkeys down to where they put on a bit of a show, demonstrating the skills they have that are utilised on the all kinds of films and programs like BBC TV's Our Zoo.
