It is admirable for a man to take his son fishing, but there is a special place in heaven for the father who takes his daughter shopping.

There were a lot of photos taken today as it was another busy day in the Dixon house. But this is my favorite as Michael had a meeting today at Enginuity and as we have a passport, Charlotte and I decided we would spend time there while he was in the meeting. [Enginuity is the science-related museum so we knew there was lots for us to do.] However, in the morning, the local county paper contacted Michael regarding the Antique Roadshow and requested a picture so arrangements were made to meet the photographer at the National Puppetry Archive after Michael's meeting. This scuppered our plans for lunch at McDonald's but Charlotte understood, sort of.
Michael managed to end his meeting earlier so that he could spend time with Charlotte in Enginunity, which is why I love this photo. He didn't care that he had his business suit on - he only cared that Charlotte had some time to play as the puppets seem to be taken over half-term (although we've been trying very hard for it not to). After Enginuity and meeting the photographer, Charlotte decided to take daddy into town to go to the Cliff Railway cafe' as he has never been but not before taking him into every shop in town to ensure he has ideas of treats to buy her 'just whenever Dad.'
When we finally arrived home, it was Mario World (Wii) and a few games of chess - with dad only. But at least he was allowed to changed out of his suit!
Yes, playdates with friends are arranged for the end of the week, yes she will be spoiled rotten on Wednesday when she goes out with Nanny and Gahdoo (Grandmom and Grandad) but today was about Daddy and Charlotte.
