Meniscus
Meniscus is the name of this water sculpture by William Pye at Alnwick Gardens.
The meniscus is the curve in the upper surface of a liquid close to the surface of the container or another object, caused by surface tension.
You can see the meniscus of the water in this sculpture as the water flows over the brim vertically - or so it says in the blurb!
Putting the science aside, it makes an interesting photo. Can you spot the photographer?
