At Close Quarters

Went to Bradgate Park this morning to watch a Sealed Knot living history re-enactment. It was based on an actual incident in the English Civil War when Royalist Lord Hastings of Ashby de la Zouch attacked Parliamentarian Lord Grey at his home in Bradgate House.

During the melee, a deer escaped on to the field, but thought better of staying.

It was the first time I'd seen one of these re-enactments and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
