Late Star

This Knautia Macedonica was spotted at the back of the pink and purple herbaceous border, having seeded itself there. The main drift, which is centre border, has been brilliant but the flowers have been over for some weeks now and is just providing structural interest. This fabulous little cushion of deep crimson (no bigger than a penny piece) will be relocated after the flower has stopped glowing. Now I'm wondering about a red border for next year ....
