Life, not as we see it.

Altalya falls - source of Mare Nostrum ?

Today's boat trip was, I'm afraid, a bit of a disappointment. We presented ourselves at the quayside as appointed, boarded the boat, then nothing for half an hour, when two more victims arrived. Then nothing. Another half hour then the captain explained he had not in fact taken a deposit from the other four expectees, and we would have to pay another £5 each. I know it's not much, but there are principles involved, principles which the captain had espoused the previous day. However, as we had already invested time and money in this venture, we agreed. Just as the boat was cast off, two of the missing four appeared, and joined the happy ship. Our extra charge was then reduced, slightly.

So, chug, chug, chug for an hour along the cliff coast, viewing the myriad of hotels on the clifftop and their varying degrees of safe & unsafe means of reaching the sea.
On rounding a headland we came upon the above highlight of the trip. Not spectacular, but certainly unusual. I don't think I can remember a similar falls, directly into the sea.

That was the turning point, and off we set on the return leg. It was interrupted for a short swim break which I for one enjoyed. For me, a holiday hasn't happened, or really started until I've had a dip in the sea.

Nowt else of interest to report today. Off to Dalyan in the morning.

PS: Not sure of the exact location. Distance at sea not my strength.
