Bird On A Handrail

Went to visit my eldest son as usual this afternoon for cake and cups of tea, but he was coming down with something when we got there, sneezing, coughing and not feeling good so we had to leave and let him go to bed poor fellow.

We headed off to the waterways nearby around East Perth called Claisebrook Cove which are really lovely. Many people were wandering along enjoying the sunny day, quite a few pulling up in flash motor boats and of course lots of swans, ducks and other water birds.

We had a good walk around and took lots of photos and without a doubt the most intriguing bird was this young one (I think it might be a shag) who was not scared at all. As we walked up close to him and took a couple of shots he never batted an eyelid! He looked a bit lost really!

I liked this shot with the little girl and her old fashioned pram, she was quite taken with the bird too, so sweet.
