Day 32: The Twelve Apostles

The Great Ocean Road is a highway that winds along the south-eastern coast of Australia, passing iconic views and landmarks, such as these scenic Twelve Apostles. These limestone rock formations were created thru erosion that continues to batter along the coastline, toppling stacks into the sea. Today only seven apostles remain.

Much like other coastal highways, there are many beautiful stops to make along the way to see lighthouses, shipwrecks, or if you're really lucky, whales. Too bad it was a bit chilly and windy for picnics on the beach.

We completed the drive and continued onward to our room for the night, a quaint cabin in a local campground, fitting for our Australian nature tour. We doubled up on blankets to keep warm thru the night. Too bad we didn't have a crackling fire and marshmallows :)
