New Cottage
Whilst I was away the wife ordered the new shed we'd agreed on. It's a small cottage in fact. Plus, she bought herself an oldish Ford Ranger as well, which we just got back today.
Originally, the cottage would be a shed, but it's going to be fitted out as another room (insulation, electrics, drywall, etc). It'll be somewhere for storage in the future, and whilst we renovate the new house, it'll be it's own sanctuary.
Decided on big windows to make it more like living space.
And the Ranger - picked it up for not much, not the usual beaten up work truck that we've seen (and nothing like that Chevy). But it fills a practical place as we can finally stop using the Smart for work, and it's a little lighter on fuel than the F250. We won't mind getting it dirty, and it can do the scrapyard run.
But interestingly it's the 4litre engine and it has the 5 speed automatic box, which makes it a very rare little pickup, as these were both special order options. It wasn't the happiest pickup when we got it though - it could have rocked around town - but a $1,000 of repairs and three days in the shop and it's running much better. It's almost silent the engine is that good.
Still got to get the aircon gassed back up. Until then, windows are down.
