Dockside lunch
Birgit & I decided that enough was enough and that unless one of us was out of town, we would have lunch together every Friday. I mean, you have to get the weekend off to the right start! Things at the Dockside were looking good today.
I had been out in the backyard earlier in the day and saw this dragonfly in one of the dogwood trees. At the tip of my dead mimosa tree was this guy.
When I got home from my lunch things were very different. We got 1-1/2 inches of rain in about 90 minutes. This heavy rain was reminiscent of 30 years ago. Wilmington was in the thick of Hurricane Diana with the eye making landfall on September 13th.
On this day 30 years ago I was on a 36ft ketch, anchored in the middle of the Intracoastal Waterway in Morehead City, NC, having just arrived after sailing trans-Atlantic from Scotland. Due to the hurricane, we sat anchored for 3 days awaiting clearance by the customs and immigration people.

Have a great weekend everyone. =^..^=
