Greetings from Port Appin

Woo-hoo! We may have no TV and no mobile phone signal, but we do have wi-fi:-)

Arrived safely in Port Appin and this is our holiday cottage. Husband has suggested the canoe is in case we have a high tide:-)

The journey was rather longer than expected, as the road was closed between Lochearnhead and Crianlarich due to an accident and the police sent all traffic via Crieff and Aberfeldy - about a 60 mile detour! We'd only just come through Crieff en route, yet there were no warning signs anywhere. Poor show from local police.

We had a quick walk down to the Pier before darkness fell and watched the ferry to Lismore Island as it boarded passengers for the 5 minute crossing. At least we'll know what to expect when we make the trip - a wooden box acts as a gangplank!

Weather likely to be rather misty, as it was today, so may get some atmospheric shots:-)
