I Am NOT of a Certain Age!!

I went along to Event City to the Stitch & Bitch...or something creative like that....Show. Woman's Weekly had a few talks and workshops there, including ones led by the fiction editor, Gaynor Davies and writer, Della Galton. Carey came with me and we met Kath there. As we drove into the car park I said to Carey, "It is going to be mainly women here today and a certain type of woman." She looked at me, "A certain type?" "Well look at them...they're mostly of a certain age and well they look like....." I looked around, "Well, like her!" Just as I pointed out a woman Carey waved as she knew her...I hope she didn't see us guffaw.

We had a good mooch around and then went into the talks and the workshop. It was really interesting and informative and gave me a some things to think about. I then had a short one to one session with Della. I had taken my story Speed Dating for the Over Eighties and she liked it. There are a couple of little things to tweak, but I was pleased with her feedback.

We joined in with an armchair exercise class...I told you it was for a lady of a certain age...and it was hilarious. The woman who led it was very enthusiastic and we shook our stuff as we laughed. We also had a strip of elastic to stretch, "Make sure your rubber doesn't have a hole in it." There was no answer to that!

As we wandered over to the Trafford Centre I spied two big pointy fingers that car park attendants were using to direct people to the Screw Fix Exhibition next door (Woman's Weekly don't print saucy stuff so all the comments we made about screws can't be used ha ha ha). Well it was too good an opportunity to miss and my two willing volunteers....hmmmmm....posed for a pic.

Kath got her own back with a Morecambe & Wise shot of Carey and me dancing down the Traff....ha ha ha. We went for a meal and laughed a bit more before heading home.

Now my pjs are on and I'm ready for the Celebrity Big Brother Final...yay!
