sweet......

My new moth trap is amazing!! even when the weather is bad (cold and moonlight) I still have about 70 moths in my trap every night.
Recently the mix of moths has changed from 95% Large yellow underwings to a few of quite a few species.
I have caught quite a few 'Thorn' moths in this recent mix, and I always enjoy seeing them, and I am really looking forward tocatching and being able to blip a Canary sholdered thorn.
Last night I caught two early thorns Selenia dentaria and this which I think may be an August thorn Ennomos quercinaria, but if someone knows better I would be delighted to know.
The August thorn (as the name suggests) flys in August and September and is often attracted to light. It inhabits woodland and suburban habitats and can be found locally throughout Britain.
I think she has the sweetest little moth face, I hope you agree.
