Reflecting on the pond

This year a heron arrived stealing fish and kindly donating the floating duck weed that has now infested everywhere. It is easy to get rid of in winter as once the pond has frozen I can lift out the surface layer, however at the moment regular scooping sessions have to suffice.
This pond is going to be remade slightly higher up the garden and with more gently slopping edges, and hopefully more wildlife friendly . The area the pond is in will be reserved for a new greenhouse ( if I have amassed the appropriate number of Brownie Points ).
