Semper Fidelis
I have been thinking about time a great deal lately. More specifically, I've been thinking about the passage of time and how it is utterly unstoppable. This photo sits atop my chifforobe, but I rarely pay it any attention. Today, my gaze came to rest upon it, and I began thinking.
Long after I am gone from this verdant sphere, time will continue endlessly. Don't get me wrong - I'm not upset about getting older. I mean, I am only thirty-two years old...rather young by most standards. It's just that, from a philosophical view, time is pretty much the one, single immutable entity. Even if we humans succeed in totally destroying this earth, time will continue incessantly, with or without our approval.
This is a photograph of me, taken while I was in Marine Corps Basic Training at San Diego, California. It was taken fourteen years ago, when I was a mere eighteen years of age.
