Arthur's Seat
This photo is mostly to celebrate a glorious day of sunshine, and the fact that I climbed Blackford Hill twice - in training for my walking holiday. This was taken on my second visit to the top of the hill - I decided to leave it until then to motivate myself to go up a second time.
Afterwards I spent some time at Blackford Pond and found two young with an adult Little Grebe. I had seen one young on my last visit, and the second young was quite a bit smaller than the first. I also saw a moorhen on a nest! It seems rather late in the year for such things - maybe the Indian summer has got it confused. I will keep an eye on developments.
Better seen large.
