Day 1 - Coming home!

This is my new pet/roommate/friend Sam. Since I didn't know whether he was a boy or a girl in the beginning, I decided to call him Sam because it's a unisex name.

Thanks to my science-loving friend, she told me how to tell the difference between male and female crickets. The males have 2 antenna on its abdomen and the females have 3. Not only that, but the males have smaller wings to make the chirping noise at night while the females have larger wings.

She also told me what crickets like to eat. To give Sam a way to drink, I soaked a cotton ball with water and put it in the jar as seen here.

Not much has happened, I can only hope he lives for a few weeks and lets me sleep at night.
