The Biggest Let Down

Here is our seriously ancient shower. It looks like it has been on the earth longer than we have. When did electric showers become common? This looks 70's to me (as does most the house!).

The initial testing of the shower went badly. After turning the on the power there was a long grumbling which built up until water shot out of the sides of the shower head, soaking us and the bathroom. Second attempt (after swapping the shower head for a new one) resulted in a weak flow of cold water - useless.

It will have to be baths in the lovely green tub until hubby can replace this monster.
