Hotel in Decay and Roman Baths.

This is the Hotel Ottoman in Thermi. Built in 1909 it went into decay in the 1930's and is now derelict. It was built to service all the people who wanted to use the the hot spring baths in this area. In front of the hotel are the original Roman Baths. If you look towards the bottom of the photograph you can still see the steps running down into the baths. Altogether it was a strange experience. The door to the hotel is open and you can go inside. Beautiful marble stairs lead to the first floor. So strange that it fell into decay so quickly.
