Garden goings-on!

I like this time of the year in the garden. Some of the trees and shrubs are starting to turn yellow/orange, but there are still plenty of flowers and some plants are repeat flowering with this spell of nice weather. This means lots of exciting insect activity for me (including many eating my plants!), but I was just as struck today by this apparent liaison between the rose Gertrude Jekyll and the dahlia Bishop of York. What would the Victorians have said!
