The Gates of Violence

This forms part of Monument against war and fascism in Vienna's Albertinaplatz. It consists of 5 seperate artworks, including the "Stone of the Republic" with the words from the declaration of Austrian Independence signed in April 1945.
In the foreground here you can see "Street Washing Jew" which refers to one of the points in history where jews were forced into "scrubbing" and made to clean the streets on their hands and knees in front of jeering onlookers.
May we always remember so that it never happens again.
