Garden Veg I - Potatoes

This is our first ever potato crop. Not a large crop, as we just grew them in pots, but it was incredibly satisfying to prise their smooth buttery shapes out of the soil.

The start of an unintentional day in the garden - the lawn has now been mowed, scarified and reseeded to within an inch of its life. This morning it was long lush and green (if a bit straggly) - now it looks like it has been given a bad haircut and a napalm spray. Have to be cruel to be kind!

Hopefully this blip will be the first of an occasional series as we harvest some goodies over the summer.

Dinner tonight will be - potatoes and something.
