fings burn...

"I must say, this is a jolly splendid office," glistened Cameron, theatrically casting his gaze about the room. "Jolly splendid. It would be an awful shame to be forcibly ejected from it, cast into the cold depths of winter, never to return." He summoned a tear from his freshly-implanted remote-controlled duct, allowing it to brim wobblefully for a second before blinking it hastily away. "I would hate to think of so many of you shuffling employmentlessly along the dark, unlit streets, begging mercy from the roving gangs who would devour the remainder of your children." He wibbled the least stiff of his lips meaningfully. "If only you had a safe, warm house to have kept them in! Even one with a meagre single-digit acreage of grounds! Not even necessarily permanently staffed! Just enough to have kept your malnourished infants and meagre possessions secure. Sadly, certain repossession from an inabiity to maintain inevitably skyrocketing payments will have surely unhoused all of you by the end of September." HIs entourage, on cue, bowed and shook their heads as one. "Still, if you must make aspirational or idealist decisions without the security of a vast personal fortune, then so be it." Had he been wearing a hat, at this point he would have removed it and clasped it in front of his abdomen. "Sadly, those who wilfully sneer at their Shareholders and betters cannot escape their due punishment. At best, may your deaths be swift and not needlessly excruciating." He raised his head, eyes hard now, gazing steelily at a few quaking drones in turn. "Though, of course, it is not yet too late. Not for all of you." He straightened. "Even those of you not wearing hand-made shirts, or clad disgustingly in factory-constructed shoes. Repent your temerity, and avert your fate." He glanced at the Business Captains assembled to his left, who bowed obediently. "These gentlemen understand. Being poorer, you may struggle to comprehend the needs of large accumulations of wealth and their rightful masters, but they are willing to teach you, through a series of punishment exercises. Repudiate your so-called country's absurd desires, and I may let you live."
