Call Mr Aluko

It's been said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture and if ever there was someone who could do all of those things it's probably Tayo Aluko.

Tayo's something of Renaissance Man - an architect, writer, performer, activist and singer, amongst other things. And what a singer he is!

He's also currently hard at work writing a play which I'd better not talk about as it's probably top secret... But it's on a fascinating subject and I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's finally unveiled.

I bumped into Tayo in the queue at the Post Office this afternoon and took the opportunity to grab a couple of shots of him outside on Roscoe Street before he caught his bus!

Being on Roscoe Street, talk turned to William Roscoe - after whom the street was named. Roscoe was a Liverpool lawyer and one-time member of parliament who is notable for having been a prominent local Abolitionist at a time when Liverpool's wealth was inextricably linked to the slave trade.

He was also one of the founding members, in 1797, of Liverpool's Atheneum Club - a club of which Tayo was once also a member. Until he thought better of it!
