A view from the top
. . . . . of the old Hardwick Hall, a home of Bess of Hardwick. She started out as a servant but managed to marry four times each husband very rich, dying to make way for his successor. In the end she was the second richest woman in the land, second only to Queen Elizabeth I.
Bess built a new hall nearby and for a time both were in use. The new hall is palatial and huge, worth a visit, in the hands of the National Trust now.
I toyed with mono but felt the warm colours needed a showing!
