Friday Harbor Before Dawn

The moon set early in the morning before daybreak, so I was able to get some star shots from the top deck of the boat looking east. This was taken about 5AM about the time the ferry rounded the corner of Brown Island....it is out of sight to the left, but it is shining it's lights on the island. It was so quiet and peaceful...although a bit chilly, and I was working in the dark and trying to be very quiet as our guests were sleeping in the forward cabin right below where I was. Taking night shots is fun...lots of factors to think about, and you really have to know your way around your camera and tripod in the dark:))
