It was a blow to the village when the newspaper shop closed. It has reopened but it is only a temporary reprieve as the Mairie is helping with the rent for the summer to see if a reopening is viable. The problem is that most people only buy the Indépendent, the source of all local news and that is hardly enough to sustain a business. The sewing shop has closed and the local speciality shop is rumoured to be closing too. In the second poorest département in France, we are still en pleine crise.
