Third wheel sucks
Today was a big class day and Seth and I drove the students over to Teresa´s in the morning for tropical ecology class. Her husband who is a wildlife documentary maker, was just in Argentina and brought back Andean Condor feathers from his latest assignment. They were laid out on the table some of them longer than my forearm. It makes you wonder and dream. I collect feathers and things like, a little piece of natural art. A momento, though these were not for me.
Before leaving we stopped by to say hello to the bears, kinkajous, ocelots, and parrots in Teresa´s backyard. There I did get my momento. A huge irridescent blue and yellow macaw tail feather. A souvenir for home and where I snapped this shot of these cheeky fellows. Amazon parrots full of mischief and social humor. This was the most interesting shot, trouble in paradise I might caption it. But the one on the left is who I sympathize with. Awwww, poor guy, third wheel sucks.
We stopped for chanco de sevo at a big pig roast on the ride home. Cut pork right off a whole pig splayed out on spit, yapingachos, choclo corn, and aji to top it off. Call that a heart hiccup of greasy goodness Ecuadorian style. Add a dallop of some lecturing and errands running off for groceries and picking up my photos for tomorrow´s show to round out the day.
My photo show is tomorrow and really I am so excited. On top of it all, it is Carnival to boot! The crescendo of water balloon squirt gun shenanigans builds daily.....
