Forces School trip

The Youngest's class, plus all the other Year 3/4 cluster, had a school trip today to help with their study on Forces. The trip was half a day roller skating and half a day bowling. Great fun! I was able to help out on this trip, which was novel, as the last year or so, I've not been able to.

This is Lara, she's had a rough year. She was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia not long after she was born and it was touch and go if she would get a liver transplant in time. Obviously she did, or she wouldn't be here. She has been in and out of hospital quite a lot in her life, but she'd had a long period of being well without needing intervention, and then earlier this year she developed an infection. She has spent a lot of time in hospital this year as it was looking like her liver was failing. Her bile ducts weren't draining and she had to have some very nasty procedures. They've managed to put a shunt in which is working well at the moment, but her family are really living on a knife's edge, not knowing when things could change. Very pleased to see her enjoying this trip...she deserves all the fun in the world.
