Post Driving

The establishment of further two or three hectares of vineyard on Meadowbank Station adjacent to the Taylor River is progressing rapidly. First the irrigation system was installed underground …. then the tiny grape vines were planted. The vineyard posts were laid out on the ground a few days ago and this morning contractors were busy driving those posts into the hard stony soil. There was a team of three working at pounding the posts into place. Another worker was following behind checking that the posts were standing straight. He was pushing the slightly askew posts into the right angle as necessary. The next stage will be when the hundreds/if not thousands of metres of wire are installed.
