bank holidays are dangerous

The dangers of bank holidays: after a weekend of gigging and clearing out the garage bank holiday Monday seemed like the perfect time to catch up on some chores: go and get a haircut, pick up a magazine for +1/2, do some food shopping.

Of course, what really happened was: +1/3 and I went into Perth to get a haircut only to find the barbers shut. We then went around the corner to the music shop for a quick browse only to see a rather nice, very reasonably priced acoustic in need of a test strum. Unfortunately it sounded lovely. After about 10 minutes playing the owner of the shop saunters over, engages in some chat about the guitar and casually knocks 10% off.

Oooops. One impulse purchase later and it was back to the house to explain why I'd achieved nothing on the list, but had bought a new guitar.
