Horatio Nelson

This statue was first unveiled in Birmingham in 1809. Nelson was a real hero in his time. He joined the navy in 1770 when he was 12 and became a captain when he was 20 and was promoted to Vice Admiral at 43 years of age. He won a few sea battles during that time but was killed at his most famous victory at Trafalgar. What a man.
