Epitaph to poor Mama

Deep in my local woods, well off the track, is this monument.  I would never have know it was there had I not been shown where it was.  It was erected 200 years ago in 1812 to commemorate the death of a young women who died suddenly when her husband was serving abroad in Portugal leaving a 6 yr old son.   200 years ago there was a big house and a large esate.  Now there are roads and houses and the monument has ended up in the small woods that are all that is left from the estate.   It is neglected, overgrown and looking very sad.

Internet resarch reveals it is a listed marble monument erected in memory of Lady Catherine Stewart, sister of Lord Darnley and wife of Brigadier-General Charles Stewart.  There is a notice attached to the gate detailing the inscriptionClick here to read it.

There must be some local connection,  which would explain why her husband chose our woods,  as a nearby road is called Darnley Drive.
