Curious?

Well, who wouldn’t be curious? What is he looking for, standing in very cold water with his pants rolled up? They don’t look like the type of people who would be hoping to catch a wayward crab, a handful of clams, or a great rock to take back with them to wherever they’re from. I took a few pictures and then decided to leave with the question unanswered.

The thought occurred to me as I was walking away that my blipbuddy, MaryJo, would have struck up a conversation and asked them what they were looking for. They weren’t fearsome looking people but she did remind me of the lady I blipped a couple of weeks ago that I fantasized was the Dowager Empress of Russia reincarnated. Putting that aside I chided myself for being such a wimp. So, summoning up courage to face Her Highness and make MaryJo proud of me, I turned around and headed back toward the water even though I didn’t know what I was going to do.

To my surprise, she was walking toward me and as she got closer I chanted to myself "MaryJoMaryJo" for courage, and then made a comment to her about how cold the water must be for her husband (an accurate assumption about their relationship, fortunately). She was quite friendly and when I finally got around to asking her what he was looking for she smiled sheepishly and said “our car keys”.

After that it got confusing because she said something about “our other car” and then walked over to a car and opened the door. I took that to mean they weren’t stranded since they clearly had an operable vehicle. I’m glad because I didn’t fancy joining her husband in the cold water but certainly would have wanted to do something to help them.

It wasn’t much of an adventure but it was better than spending the evening wondering what they had been doing. Besides I may have made points with Mary Jo.
