Crossing the river
Dartmouth is on the river Dart. The quickest way to get to anywhere along the coast on the other side of the river is to use the ferry. They have two in Dartmouth, the lower and the upper. The lower consists of a barge and a tug boat times two. As one sets of from one side of the river, the other one also sets off. They cross in the middle. The higher one is a cable guided ferry. This image is taken as we cross back after a great day at Paignton Zoo.
I can recommend the zoo.
The animals looked happy
The food was good
Favourite animals birds/animals:
Toucan (we were remembering the Guinness adverts)
Giant tortoises
The goats in the children's touch area
The orang-utan playing in a sack
