My "me" day

I'm still getting used to Thursdays being a "me" day rather than a "mummy and Ethan" day like they used to be!

I let him cycle to school again today - he's so enthusiastic about it! I then did a few hours of housework before driving into Edinburgh for a haircut . Unfortunately the hairdresser was running late and I didn't notice quite how late, until I looked at the clock and realised I had to pick Ethan up from school in 25 minutes ... I was in the centre of Edunburgh! My hairdresser finished off sharpish, I sprinted back to the car and made an emergency call to my friend whose wee boy is at the same school to ask if she could wait with him till I got there.

Fortunately I ended up only being a few minutes late. However when Ethan realised I had the car and that he couldn't cycle home, he had a massive meltdown. He was crying and shouting at me " I'm very disappointed in you mummy" and " I'm very angry with you mummy" over and over!

He calmed down back at the house once he realised Granny was there.

We both took him to football, then home for dinner, then Granny babysat while hubbie and I went back to the school for our first parents evening.

We went for a quick wander in the woods afterwards - spotted loads of brambles. Might take Ethan along to pick some.
